India - Green Hydrogen Potential by 2030

India is well positioned to emerge as a green hydrogen hub

  • Annual green hydrogen demand of 2.85 million metric tons

  • To achieve this objective, India needs:
    • 62 GW of additional renewable energy, requiring investment of $36 billion
    • 29 GW of electrolyser capacity, requiring investment of $15 billion
    • 11 mmt per annum of ammonia infrastructure, requiring investment of $6 billion

  • The indian government’s green hydrogen mission targets a production capacity of at least 5 mmt/annum.
